Welcome to FishSAFE

This site helps fishermen to fish safely in UK waters. It provides information about oil and gas related surface and subsea structures and is available in five languages.

 FishSAFE Unit in Demand

Since its launch there has been strong demand for the new FishSAFE Unit.

240 units have been sold at the price of £529 each plus VAT.

This price has been made possible by a grant from The European Fisheries Fund and the Scottish Ministers and by services provided without charge by FLTC Services Limited a not for profit company. FLTCS is supported by The Scottish Fishermen's Federation,The National Federation of Fishermen's Organisations and Oil and Gas UK. The company is funded by OGUK and by some of their member companies.

The heavily subsidised price applies to the first production run of the units only. Once the first units have been sold any further units ordered will not benefit from the grant awarded and are likely to cost considerably more than £529. Click here for further information about the unit.

Important Information

Version 19 of the KIS-UKCS data issued in March and April 2010 was the final version of data for use in the old FishSAFE unit.

All subsequent versions of the data, are suitable only for use in the new FishSAFE unit.

It is important that any user of the KIS-UKCS data has the most up to date version of the data and a new unit on which to display the data.

240 new FishSAFE units have already been supplied at a price significantly reduced by a grant from The Scottish Ministers and The European Fisheries Fund.

Any fisherman who wishes to order a new unit at the reduced price is advised to do so without delay while stocks last.
